Neurology Specialist Muhammed Erkam Akkoyun completed his medical education at Bezmialem Vakıf Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi and his neurology residency at İstanbul Üniversitesi İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi. In addition to general neurology practice, his clinical work focuses particularly on Multiple Sclerosis and neuroimmunological diseases, cerebrovascular diseases, neurological emergencies, and the management of chronic neurological disorders.
During his residency, he received clinical training in general neurology, neuroimmunology, and movement disorders. His specialist thesis examined the topographic distribution of newly developing brain magnetic resonance imaging lesions across the phenotypic subtypes of Multiple Sclerosis.
His peer-reviewed academic work addressed the rare coexistence of Crohn’s disease and anti-GAD-associated autoimmune encephalitis. His academic interests include Multiple Sclerosis, neuroimmunology, MRI lesion topography, and scientific research. He is a member of the Turkish Neurological Society and the Hayat ve Sağlık Foundation.
Since 2026, he has been completing his compulsory service as a neurology specialist at Balıklıgöl State Hospital. His approach to patient care is grounded in current scientific evidence, individualized clinical assessment, and clear communication.
